Back again!

Dear Staff,
I do apologize for not keeping up with the blog for the past six months. It has been difficult with school, work, Dr. Forsythe has been on medical leave, and just keeping all together.
In January the nursing library moved downstairs to the ground floor down the hallway from ITD. If you take the M5 elevator near Human Resources you will see it as soon as the doors open. It is open right now from about 8-4 M-F and can be open at anytime by security. There are two computer stations there and a table to work on. All of the books and journals previously in the old nursing library are there and new ones are coming. So take a look and let me know what else you would like to see happening.
CME is going forth until Memorial Day and everyone is welcome to attend. Yes, CME is mainly for the physicians, but there is always room for any of you that wish to attend. It convenes in the Waltz Auditorium at 8 am every Thursday morning. The schedule is on the wiki and on the catalog site, just look to the left to see what is going on. You can call me at 67727 anytime to check on upcoming programs. If you think of knowledge gaps and wish to see a program presented or have a speaker you would like to hear, please let me know and I will pass this information onto the CME committee.
Hope all are getting ready to enjoy spring as it seems to have finally come.
Thanks for checking in.

Where has the year gone?

Dear Staff,
This seems to be the question I hear so often here in the library. It has been a number of month since I have been able to write to all of you. The library has a few changes as books and journals online have been added. Please feel free to look this over and let me know what you think.
Also, there is a problem with the firewalls here at Euclid and I cannot get into the catalog to add or revise information presented unless I go home and do it at night. Therefore there are two new CME activities that are not on the schedule yet.

December 3 - Dr. Gebel from the Cleveland Clinic main campus will be speaking on Stroke.
December 10 - Greg Kilway from our own ITD will be speaking on My Practice and the other interlocking
databases.
The 2010 Clinical Conferences will start on January 7. If anyone has topics or wishes to present a topic of their own, please contact me at jtallman@cchseast.org or at 216-692-7727. You can always come down to my office which is by the Medical Staff Office and tell me your suggestions.

Next year there will be more journals online and we hope to have more of you familiar with how to access the catalog from off campus so you can know it is there for you anywhere.

If I do not have time to write again before the end of the year, I wish all of you Happy Holidays and safe travel as you visit family and friends.

Summer time, but fall is coming

Dear Staff,
I am very excited with the number of you that have been visiting the catalog and the other links that are available on this site. I do hope you find that 'one stop shopping' is easy and convienent for you. If you wish to have other links or find there are websites you are in need of and wish to have added, please let me know.
Please take a look at the fall Continuing Medical Education schedule as I think the variety will please many of you. The CME committee thanks you for your suggestions. Please feel free to suggest a topic and if you would like to present at the Grand Rounds, send me your name, contact information, and topic. Our next CME meeting is October 13, 2009.
Hope you are enjoying your summer. Feel free to stop by the library with any questions you may have with the catalog, links, or your own research.

Dear Staff,
As I am writing to you after such a long time, I do apologize. Right now I am at the Health Fair in the cafeteria and am very happy that so many of you have stopped by the library table to inquire about the online service. If you are reading this you have found the online catalog. Welcome!
If you have any questions or want more information please do not hesitate to call me at x 67727 or email me at
jtallman@cchseast.org.
Thank you all and happy researching!
